At dawn outside our kitchen window in 10 degree weather, not enjoyable for us southerners.
The next day I had a crow encounter which are about as easy as getting a sasquatch photograph

“Right outside this lazy summer home
you don’t have time to call your soul a critic, no
Right outside the lazy gate of winter’s summer home
wondering where the nuthatch winters
Wings a mile long just carried the bird away”

I know the Grateful Dead is not everybody’s cup of tea, but I am such an old deadhead that this is the very first thing that comes to mind when I hear or see the word “nuthatch.” (even though Garcia seems to mispronounce it in this clip:

Too funny! Easy listening DEAD or how it sounds to me. Local boy Bruce Hornsby, etc. Reminds me of a HAT FACTORY event of which I never saw one either. Jerry’s guitar looks like a space-age Gibson SG???
I do have one LP in the collection that I enjoyed after being passe about the Dead for years (DEAD SET) and the lp I believe you gave us with “Althea” on it. Getting gas on the way back from the mountains one time we met a store clerk that was excited about Althea’s name and informed us he named his daughter Althea, needless to say a Dead Head, LOL……….
My big find during this polar vortex is a pair of Merino wool socks. They may have saved me from the mild hypothermia I got on the Hell Trip years back.
