  1. We were in our car eating a Taco from Alamo BBQ wondering where this event was happening. It wasn’t easy to find even though I had found the site across Broad last year. Both sites butt up to Interstate 95.

    Thanks for coming out. Others also had trouble finding it. When I got home I found out I was in trouble because my family had been driving around looking for it and had been calling me. Unfortunately, I left my phone at home and wasn’t getting their messages. Sometimes you just can’t win!

  3. Next to the site of Lumpkin’s Jail, sitting ignominiously on a trailer flat, is what may be the last known slave cottage in Richmond. In a state of decay and sitting without funding or a champion, this bit of Richmond slave history, which should not be allowed to vanish into lore, sits in danger of further vandalism and destruction by the elements.
