After changing the oil in all our vehicles and lawnmower I headed to Hanover County to get tomatoes which needed to be gotten before rotting on vine. My friends always have that many growing beyond eating and canning. As I passed over the Woodson Mill bridge the elusive Kingfisher was sitting on debris in the middle of the river. Of course by the time I had parked it was down river and one of the few times I wish I had one of those baseball bat telephoto lens. I did manage this Sasquatch quality photo of it.
The tufted titmouse is the surprise of this season. They come and scream at me for peanuts and seeds.
