  1. They became popular in San Francisco in 2001 when a Presa Canario mauled and killed a women. Sales rocketed in that area as police became concerned that this animal would be used by criminals as a killer canine dog. People even refer to this breed as a Pit Bull on Steroids. Arrested for the killings were the owners of the dog and were convicted.

    However, according to the Humane Society of America, the breed of the dog is really not the factor. In fact, they believe that it is the way in which the dog is trained that is the main root cause of a vicious attack.

  2. I’d like to add the owner has been breeding English Mastiffs, French Bull Mastiffs, and Presa Canario Mastiffs for decades. All of which grew up within a loving family of children and adults. Cartman (dog pictured) is near the end of his lifespan (has one tooth left) was a wonderful animal and the last Mastiff of this Dynasty, hope I get another chance to see!
